Getting More from Niche Apprenticeships

Five years ago our apprenticeship provision wasn’t working! So we started to specialise, giving intelligent employers an option to choose from a range of niche apprenticeships, which were hard to find elsewhere.

Now our apprenticeship provision works 🙂

114 employers work with us 2+ standards. Pearson and City & Guilds unlock the benefit of apprenticeships for the most roles – utilising 6 JGA standards!

Richard Goodwin

We offer a full range of marketing, sales, PR/comms and bid team standards and are especially proud of progression opportunities such as:

  • Digital Community Manager (clients include Lego, Sega, Innocent Drinks)
  • Marketing Executive (Cancer Research UK, Nuffield Health)
  • Marketing Manager (Centrica Plc, Sage Plc)
  • Systems Thinking Practitioner (NHS, Pearson)
  • Creative Digital Design Professional (partnership with Middx Uni)

Increase the penetration of apprenticeships for your organisation by talking to us about which standards will effectively support your teams. We’re always happy to advise, even if we pass you on to another provider.

With best wishes,

Richard Goodwin

And while meeting social value requirements they also (of course) deliver lasting benefits to both your organisation and the wider community.

Case Study: the Service Designer Apprenticeship at the Maritime & Coastguard Agency

Eve Laughton

Eve Loughton’s journey into service design is the culmination of years of working in roles centred on helping people and solving problems.

Reflecting on her career, Eve says, “I’ve never really had a career path… I’ve just sort of landed in roles and thought, oh, I really like this.”

Starting as a project coordinator, Eve later became a user researcher and, with the help of JGA’s new apprenticeship, a service designer.

Apprentice of the Year – West London Business Awards

Many of our apprentices go on to win awards, sometimes even without our being aware of it.

Hat tip to Zainab (Mace Plc) and Nirosha (Kent County Council), two outstanding apprentices who have entered this year’s West London Business Apprentice of the Year competition.

West London Business Awards 2025

Zainab created the “Asian Arab Network,” a platform for aspiring apprentices from underrepresented Asian and Arab backgrounds; she has also demonstrated remarkable dedication to her personal development whilst on her Bid and Proposal apprenticeship.

Nirosha stands as a powerful example of how systems thinking can be applied to improve health outcomes and drive positive change within complex systems, particularly substance misuse and homeless adults.

We’ll find out in the next few weeks if they’ve been shortlisted – fingers crossed!
