What learners say about us and their achievements
Both JGA and our apprentices regularly win awards. We were named “Training Provider of the Year” at both the 2020 BAME Apprenticeship Awards and the 2023 West London Business Awards and are honoured to have received a Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
Four of the apprentices below are current and past winners of an ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award and a fifth, Gurdas, was shortlisted for a 2021 BAME Apprenticeship Award. We support your apprentices to achieve and look forward to new cohorts changing their lives and careers with their apprenticeships.
Izzy Chantry | Bid Executive at Guidant Global
“Since starting the apprenticeship last year, I have massively developed within my role and improved my practical skills when collating a bid. The apprenticeship has enabled me to introduce new tools and resources to my team to improve our processes and ensure we are bidding to best practice.”
Tom Davidson | Marketing Campaigns & Design Lead at Salford City College Group
“Lovely news to receive this morning, that I have achieved a distinction for my Marketing Executive apprenticeship! 🏆
It hasn’t been easy but it has been worth it. Thank you to The JGA Group and colleagues at Salford City College Group for all your continuous support!”
Gurdas Singh | Marketing Manager for On Logistics
“I think what’s made my apprenticeship journey so special is that it offered me something that I was always searching for, in the respect that I was looking for a sounding board, people in a similar position, people that I can rely on and I think I’ve found that with my apprenticeship cohort. Time and time again I found myself speaking to fellow apprentices who were in the same boat as I was. And when you are going through certain aspects of life or a career journey, you cannot underestimate how important it is to have somebody else that’s in the same boat as you. Because it makes you feel you’re not alone, and that was what was really special for me. It made me realise that doing this apprenticeship journey was the right choice.”
Ruan Sarris | Creative at DRP Group
“I completed my level 4 Digital Marketing Apprenticeship with DRPG. I am now studying for my level 6 Marketing Manager qualification. I chose to become an apprentice because I wanted to earn a degree-level qualification and further my skills whilst working in a fast-paced creative environment.”
Ruan has created a video explaining why he chose an apprenticeship.
Jamie Moore | Partnerships, Marketing & Communications
Coordinator for Bolton at Home
“I did a Level 3 in digital marketing and I’m now actually in the End-Point Assessment stage with the course for my level 4.
I found that 20% off the job element was was particularly useful and served as a guiding force to help me balance my time between busy working responsibilities and apprenticeship assignments. JGA’s course content does strike a nice balance so I didn’t find my Apprenticeship too overwhelming to the point where I feel confident I can achieve a pass, merit or distinction …”
Lily Rose Johns | Digital Marketing Apprentice for Clevelands Wholesale
Apprentice of the Year 2021 | West London Business Awards
Lily has taken the initiative and demonstrated commitment to personal development and progression through learning, all whilst overcoming a level of challenge rarely faced by apprentices. With little to no budget, and with colleagues of limited digital marketing or social media experience, Lily has used free tools for her phone to lead new marketing campaigns across retail and wholesale websites, learning how to use them through YouTube and JGA, her apprenticeship training provider.
Additionally, Lily created a website which will soon become a live retail platform and utilised the apprenticeship to understand and exploit her employer’s product & customer sales database, benefiting the business through the application of SWOT and SMART goal analysis to communications.
Hope Jones | Communications & Brand Advisor
for Pension Protection Fund
“I think JGA’s Off-the-job learning opportunity has been invaluable. In my case I was given the opportunity to work with other apprentices, different from those in my usual learning cohort and are further along in their apprenticeship programmes.
This is especially important to me because I am probably one of the youngest in my team and since the lockdown I have not been going into the office. So I cherish how the project provided a means to interact with others of the same work ethic and ambition.”
Ryan Wilkes | Bid Management Coordinator for Kuehne+Nagel
Apprentice of the Year 2020 | British International Freight Assoc
“The apprenticeship programme has provided me with the experiences and skills relevant to working in the world of Bid Management. The support from my employer and The JGA Group has benefitted me both personally and professionally. My APMP association means that I’m not only qualified to work in the Logistics Industry, but any sector with a Bid & Proposal Function. My apprenticeship has shaped me into the professional that I am today, and I will be forever grateful for these experiences for many years to come.”
