272 starts, 55% distinctions, 7 podcasts, 2 honours
272 new starters and more distinctions than ever for our learners. 2022 has been a great year for JGA. Take a look at our Apprenticeships in 2022 summary to find out more about what we have been up to!
Learning is in our DNA at JGA. Not only do we spend our time sharing knowledge with apprentices to help them succeed, we are also ever-curious. Here are some of the new things we learned in 2022.
How to adapt for the future and think like a billionaire – In July we launched the JGA 7 podcast series and welcomed expert guests to discuss topics as varied as future trends, experiential content, data in business, personalised marketing, leadership and career paths as well as how to think like a billionaire (spoiler, it’s about understanding problems). A huge thank you to all our guests and listeners. You can still access the podcast series here: https://anchor.fm/the-jga-group/
Apprentices have very different journeys – Did you know that more than half of apprentices last year were already working for their employer before they started their apprenticeship? (source: Gov.uk Apprenticeship evaluation 2021) Apprenticeships are not just for new starters and are a great way to keep developing your existing staff. We’ve learned this first hand from working with apprentices and talking with them at events and round tables this year. JGA MD, Richard Goodwin, says “Apprenticeships give people a route into roles or to upskill themselves within a role if they haven’t had a background of doing that job. It’s a mechanism to transfer skills into a truly professional career.”
We work with some amazing people – Congratulations to Biddy Lall, JGA’s Head of Curriculum, who was awarded an MBE in the Jubilee Queen’s Birthday Honours List and Laura Thurlow, our Apprenticeship Ambassador to the Voluntary Sector, who was awarded a BEM in the Queen’s New Year Honours List.
In this edition of our newsletter we round up the year’s achievements in our 2022 infographic; celebrate the PR and Communications apprenticeship and look at the growing Digital Community Manager apprenticeship.
Coming in 2023
In 2023 we’re looking forward to celebrating those learners that graduated during the past three years, giving them an opportunity to meet face-to-face at the JGA graduation ceremony. We’ll be writing to all graduates soon.
There will also be opportunities for new starters, with new cohorts on many apprenticeships. Contact us for details.
We look forward to continuing to support you and your employees in 2023. In the meantime, we hope you have a happy and restful break.
