Recap: JGA Apprentice & Alumni Events March 2025

This month, we held our annual apprentice, student and alumni events in London and Manchester. The goal was to bring together current and former learners for a chance to connect, catch up and to meet with our staff whom they had often met only on Teams!

The first event took place in London at the White Swan in Covent Garden, followed by the second at the Waldorf, near Manchester Piccadilly.

A huge thanks to everyone who stopped by to say “hi” – we hope you had as much fun as we did! Stay tuned for the next one!

London

To make sure that no-one was stuck not knowing anyone else, both events kicked off with networking bingo. Creative Production Executive Nish put together a sheet of statements and we had to find others who were able to tick the box (for example taken up a new hobby or lived in Hackney/Didsbury).

Next we moved on to a panel discussion with sales exec apprentice Dan Defoe, former film & TV bootcamper Abby Clark and Policy alumni Michael D’Ambra, answering a series of quick fire questions which ranged from their long term ambitions to learning from failure.

Manchester

After the networking bingo in Manchester the panel discussions included Zaynab Salim (bid), Lois Chandler (policy), Lucy Cahalin (policy), Saran Nair (policy) and Laura Stenson (policy).

The panel shared a wide range of views on most topics. On artificial intelligence they ranged from absolute AI fans to “would never touch the stuff!”

It was also great to meet the latest recruit to JGA’s Academic Board Anthonia Ibeziako. Formerly of the NHS and now of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
