West London Film and TV Competition 2024

On Thursday 9th May, 100 West Londoners packed Ealing Picturehouse for the world premiere of the West London Film Competition entries. Hosted by the Hub and facilitated by The JGA Group, the competition matched teams of students with professional mentors to develop technical skills, teamwork and professionalism. The competing films were conceptualised, scripted, shot, edited and delivered over 5 days by teams of amateurs, accompanied by a professional in March/April 2024.

The judges said “This put a smile on our faces and shifted our emotions. A great pop video. Real talent mastering the form! This was nicely shot and edited. A good use of transitions to get us between scenes. The use of the soundtrack fitted the pictures, it was a feel good film to inspire creativity. It was more an expression of creativity than stating what that is or what it means.”

Winners of the Education category

  • The William Morris Sixth Form’s fab film: West Down On It.

Winners of the Community category

  • Bollo Brook Youth Centre’s fab film: Bollo Studios: The Hidden Sounds of South Acton.
