Multi-Channel Marketer Apprenticeship Level 3 (Marketing Assistant/Digital Marketer)

Duration: 17 months

The new Multi-Channel Marketer standard is the new standard replacing the previous entry-level Digital Marketer and Marketing Assistant apprenticeships.

As no prior marketing qualifications or experience are required, it is a great way to improve the diversity of the marketing team.

Apprentices and their employers take so much value from JGA’s entry level marketing courses that last year’s official blended achievement rate was a full 21% better than the national average for all providers.

“I’m absolutely over the moon! I’m so so pleased!
Thank you very much…for all you have done for me, for holding me accountable and for being a great mentor along this journey…Your insight, patience and knowledge have been invaluable to me along this learning journey and helped me achieve what I set out to do.”
Digital Marketer Apprentice (Distinction), 2024

Multi-Channel Marketers contribute to the implementation of the Marketing strategy and plans. They are responsible for delivering day-to-day marketing activities across a multitude of platforms, channels and systems that are essential to the marketing function and activities of the company.

Typically they are the first point of contact for day-to-day activities in the marketing function and supervised by a member of staff with greater marketing skills, knowledge and experience.

It is a common entry route for many marketing professionals who later progress into more senior positions. Typical job titles include digital communications assistant, digital marketing assistant, marketing administrator, marketing assistant, marketing communications assistant, marketing junior and social media assistant.

Apprentices are assessed by the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Great employers such as Amazon, magic circle law firm Eversheds Sutherland, the Co-op, RSPCA, LV= and many parts of the public sector have trusted us to deliver high-quality entry-level marketing apprenticeships.

The apprenticeship is assessed by the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Apprentices meet the requirements for Affiliate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Power membership of the Digital Marketing Institute (DMI) for Power and Individual membership of the Institute of Data and Marketing (IDM).

The Programme

This programme has been refreshed for 2024 and is an update to the previous programmes of Marketing Assistant and Digital Marketer.

It begins with an introductory foundational module, Marketing 101, followed by four core modules, each taking around three months to complete:

Learners will be introduced to the marketing mix, audience segmentation, and customer journeys.

This module introduces the fundamental concepts of marketing. It covers business and organisational structures, the roles of stakeholders, planning and budget setting, ethical and sustainable marketing practices and how to translate business aims into clear marketing objectives.

This module introduces apprentices to the principles of online content creation across various channels. They will learn how to create effective images and videos, prepare and write targeted copy for different platforms, explore audience segmentation and evaluate the success of content. They will also gain experience of working with AI tools to aid content creation and discuss the issues that can arise from this approach.

This module covers the essentials of brand strategy and offline marketing channels. It explores what constitutes a brand, how to effectively communicate it, and how to leverage offline channels such as radio, TV and print advertising. The module also covers unique selling points (USPs) and creating an effective marketing and promotional mix.

This module introduces apprentices to the concept of the customer journey and how to effectively engage with their target audience. It covers research, mapping customer journeys, creating audience personas and crafting marketing strategies that align with the stages of the sales funnel, customer relationship marketing and community management techniques.
