Whether within corporates or agencies event assistants support the manager at the heart of organising complex events.
Apprentices gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours they need to competently identify locations and venues, design, specify negotiate and manage services, logistics, technology and marketing. They develop great internal and external communication skills, generate ideas, work within a team, are competent, respectful and above all adaptable to the needs of each project.
In 2017 JGA was the first provider to launch event assistant apprenticeship training and since then no apprentice who has remained on programme has ever failed. The vast majority have achieved merit and distinction.
We are delighted that our clients range across public, private and third sectors and are both corporate and agency. Channel 4, Informa Plc, The National Archives, Southbank Centre, Compass Plc, McMillan Cancer Support, and agency-side DRP, RPM and Alterniq all trust JGA with many having happily returned for a second or third apprentice/cohort. Apprentices receive exposure to a broad range of cultures and thinking.
The course is delivered through once monthly full day workshops and coaching from an experienced event professional, as well as virtual classroom and pre-recorded lessons. We deliver nationally so check out the brochure to get the details and the prospectus to get an idea of some of the other apprenticeship programmes run by JGA.
All teaching is presently delivered remotely and there is an active programme of starts despite Covid-19.
Cohorts are accelerating off the job learning to provide stimulation and connection for furloughed apprentices. The second benefit from starting now is that in effect apprentices are trained whilst the majority of their employment costs are being covered by the government.
