Diploma in Adult Care Level 3

Our diploma in Adult Care offers face to face workshops and flexible learning. It is taught by qualified staff with real experience in a care setting.

Duration: 9 months

Our NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care develops the knowledge and skills required to become an adult care worker in domiciliary settings. It equips you to support individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health and social care procedures.

To be eligible for the programme, you must be currently working or volunteering in a care setting.

Programme Summary

The programme empowers business owners and learners with the knowledge and skills to meet the 13 fundamental standards set by the Care Quality Commission.

Mandatory Units

There are 9 mandatory units:

  1. Promote communication in care settings
  2. Promote effective handling of information in care settings
  3. Promote personal development in care settings
  4. Promote person-centred approaches in care settings
  5. Promote equality and inclusion in care settings
  6. Promote health, safety and wellbeing in care settings
  7. Responsibilities of a care worker
  8. Duty of care in care settings
  9. Safeguarding and protection in care settings

Optional units

Learners select a combination of optional units to gain a further 30+ credits.

  • Co-ordinate activity provision in adult social care
  • Principles of advocacy
  • Co-ordinate the use of assistive living technology
  • Promote continence management
  • Understand how to support individuals to access and engage in education, training and employment (ETE)
  • Facilitate learning and development activities to meet individual needs and preferences
  • Managing pain and discomfort
  • Awareness of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Promote nutrition and hydration in adult care settings
  • Understand personalisation in adult care
  • Implement positive behaviour support
  • Develop, implement and review reablement plans
  • Support individuals to retain, regain and develop skills for everyday life
  • Understand how to support individuals with foot care
  • Provide agreed support for foot care
  • Provide support to individuals to continue recommended therapies
  • Move and position individuals in accordance with their care plan
  • Support individuals to access and use services and facilities

Delivery

The course is delivered through 3 hours a week of live, interactive, teaching via Zoom or Microsoft Teams, plus coaching, virtual classrooms and pre-recorded lessons. All teaching is presently delivered remotely.

Costs and Funding

The full course fee is £2882.00.

You may be eligible for a free course if:

  • This is your first level 3 qualification
  • You are a UK resident and have lived in the UK or the EU for the last three years
  • You are aged 19+
  • You live in London
