Understanding Common Childhood Illnesses Level 2

Duration: 12 weeks

This NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate is made up of 3 mandatory knowledge units and will increase your knowledge and understanding of common childhood illnesses. The qualification will look at

  • how to provide a safe and healthy environment for babies and young children – personal hygiene, cleaning routines, heating and ventilation
  • using PPE
  • disposing of waste
  • legislation
  • policies and procedures
  • common childhood illnesses
  • exclusion periods for different illnesses
  • health emergencies and specific health conditions in early years setting including asthma, diabetes, eczema, epilepsy
  • common allergies and intolerances, signs and symptoms

Delivery model

The course is delivered through 3 hours a week of live, interactive, teaching via Zoom or Microsoft Teams plus coaching from experts as well as virtual classroom and pre-recorded lessons. All teaching is presently delivered remotely and there is an active programme of starts despite Covid-19.
