Global Academy Tour with Hillingdon Chamber of Commerce

“Global, the media & entertainment company behind some of the UK’s best-loved radio brands, are the driving force behind the Global Academy. They believe it’s crucial to arm students with the proper technical, business and creative skills they need to work in the broadcast and digital media industry, and to help them connect their core studies with vocational skills in a truly practical and entrepreneurial way in an inspirational environment. Global are determined to help young people fulfill.” – About us | Global Academy website

The JGA Group along with other members of Hillingdon Chamber of Commerce were given a private tour of Global Academy. The tour was led by senior students Emily Parrott, Katie Wulff and Philip Rowley, students training to be the next generation of production staff, as Global stations LBC, Heart and Capital broadcast show from the Academy.

“From my visit to Global Academy, I feel the school has great facilities that will help students fulfill their potential in media and other creative industries” – Jubril Enyoisi | Marketing Executive | The JGA Group

“It was a great opportunity to meet the next generation of geniuses. We can clearly see that Global Academy is closing the gap between industry and academia” – Hani Momeninia | Full Stack Web Developer | Step Free Dance

The JGA Group provides its learners with vocational training and hands-on industry research experiences with the #ExcellentOrganisations field visits to discover how business operates.

“I had a great experience touring Global Academy, the academy is well equipped with amazing facilities for their students. It shows that they have all they need to give them a head start and up-close experience in the media & entertainment industry. It was also nice hearing the student’s plans for the future.” – Leah Alemayehu | Student | Uxbridge College

Each of the apprentices took away learning about how they can help their organisations to operate better in the future. So what did we learn?

  • Importance of design
  • Role of branding
  • Ideas for event marketing
  • Growing a business

Thank you very much to Sam Summerson and all at Global Academy for hosting the visit.

The Hillingdon Chamber of Commerce tour was so successful that I went back to meet JJ and the Global Academy Team a couple of weeks later. Maybe there are programmes we can do together as the facilities are excellent. Well done to Global and good luck to the new Principal Jonty Archibald.
