Train to Gain - London

What is on offer?

NVQ Training at Level 2

What is an NVQ?

Under Train to Gain, NVQ training at Level 2 is available free of charge to employed adults and volunteers aged 19 and over who have not yet achieved a qualification at Level 2 – i.e. they do not have 5 GCSE or O Level passes at grades A-C, or an NVQ Level 2, or a comparable diploma or certificate.

The JGA Group can offer the following qualifications to candidates in London, provided they meet the Train to Gain eligibility criteria:

NVQ Level 2 in Advice and Guidance
NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration
NVQ Level 2 in Children's Care, Learning and Development
NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service
NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
NVQ Level 2 in Learning and Development
NVQ Level 2 in Playwork
NVQ Level 2 in Team Leading
NVQ Level 2 in Playwork

Getting to the next level – NVQ Training at Level 3

The JGA Group is well aware of the demand for higher level training. Now, under Train to Gain, JGA can offer subsidised NVQ training at Level 3 in the following subjects:

Advice and Guidance
Business and Administration
Children's Care, Learning and Development
Customer Service
Health and Social Care
Housing
Playwork

These subjects are available to eligible candidates provided their employer makes a contribution towards the cost of the training.

This contribution is dependent on where the organisation is situated. In 'Area A', the employer contribution is £188+VAT. In 'Area B', the employer contribution is £296+VAT.

Area A covers Camden, Fulham, Greenwich, Hackney, Hammersmith, Haringey, Islington, Kensington & Chelsea, Lambeth, Lewisham, Newham, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Wandsworth and Westminster.

Area B covers Barking and Dagenham, Barnet, Bexley, Brent, Bromley, Croydon, Ealing, Enfield, Harrow, Havering, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Kingston, Merton, Redbridge, Richmond, Sutton and Waltham Forest.

This contribution represents a considerable saving on the commercial price for this qualification. The remaining cost is met by Train to Gain.

Skills for Life

The JGA Group can also provide Better English (ESOL) training, in London and the South East, to increase the language skills of your staff. For more information, click here.

How does it work?

Before any training begins, a JGA training consultant will meet candidates to discuss their training. Following this Individual Training Advice and the completion of a Skillscan, an Individual Training Plan will be produced, and the candidate can begin their NVQ training.
