What is it?
ESOL for Parents is a course for parents who need help with their English to get jobs.
ESOL stands for English for Speakers of Other Languages – people whose first language is not English.
What is on offer?
This is a 10-week course which helps you to improve your English, plus an extra two weeks to help you find a job. At the end of the course you can get a qualification with the English Speaking Board.
Who is it for?
The course is for people whose first language is not English. You must:
- be a parent
- be eligible for benefits or tax credits
- be eligible to work in the UK
- live or work in Hillingdon, Hounslow or Ealing
- need help with your English.
If you need help with your English but you are not a parent, or you do not live in one of these boroughs, we may still be able to help you. Please call Maya on 020 8426 2666 and ask.
How does it work?
ESOL for Parents runs during school term time and runs for 7½ hours per week, across two or three days. Courses are available in Hayes, Hounslow and West Drayton.
